Neers "Flip for Victory" over Dixie

The Neer girls ball team hosted up-county rival Dixie Heights tonight at the Joe.  Christina Cook opened the scoring with a quick trey as the Neers jumped out to a first quarter lead of 18-8.  Coach Stowers got 10 girls into the game in the first quarter alone as SK scored more off the break than in their set offense.

SK would jump out on a quick 8-2 run behind 5 quick points from Abby Owings in the second quarter.  Even though SK was on a nice run, Kaitlyn Morrison would miss a layup that would cause Coach Stowers to fall out of his chair.....literally.  I've seen him come close to taking a spill before but coach went all the way over this time.  Luckily he came up all smiles after his stunt.  Morrison would keep Coach in his chair on the next offensive set as she would capitalize on another lay-up attempt.  The SK run would continue as more break points bolstered the Score to 32-10.   SK would lead 37-13 at the intermission.

Dixie would not get on the board until just over 5 minutes to go in the third period.   SK would go up 51-20 and lead by 55-25 after 3.  Roll Tide!  The SK defense was definitely the offensive catalyst as the Neers would get easy buckets off fast breaks.

Two quick lay ups got the 4th quarter scoring going for SK.  The scoring barrage would continue as SK would go up 35 sending the clock into full motion.  All 15 SK players would once again hit the hardwood as SK would win by a final of 69-40.

The Joe heats up tomorrow night as the Scott Eagles boys will visit SK.  The girls team will travel to Scott on Wednesday.
