Wrestling Neers Finish Second in NKAC Tourney

The wrestling Pioneers finished in 2^nd at the NKAC wrestling tournament at SK today. The boys fell short in the team standings behind the state’s 2^nd ranked team, Campbell County.  The Neers did put 4 wrestlers at the top of the podium with four champions: 126 Joey Parrott, 152 Kevin Cooper, 182 Hiero Chamblee, and 195 David Bergman. Other top four placers were 120 Elijah Owens (2^nd), 132 Colton Cooper (4^th), 138 Chance Lutes (2^nd), 145 Kevin Roberts (4^th), 170 Derek Hicks (4^th), and 220 Tucker Mueller (3^rd). The boys were able to avenge a few losses from earlier in year which will be nice come regional seeding time. David Bergman is the varsity wrestler of the week.

The JV traveled to St. X (Cincinnati) on Tuesday where the boys went 19-3 against St. X. and Reading. On Saturday they wrestled at the Edgewood JV Invitational where the team had one lone placer in Champion Kyle Noggler. Kyle is the JV wrestler of the week.

This week the varsity will travel to Dayton, OH for the Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association Holiday Classic at Wright State University.

 

This is a phenomenal team; make sure to come out and support this hard working group of Neers this season.
