Lady Neers fall to Birds on Sr Night

The Lady Pioneers hosted the final regular season game of the season tonight as they fall to Highlands on senior night by a final of 48-45. SK trailed by double digits in the second half but came back to tie the score late in the fourth quarter. The Pioneers would fall behind by 5 points with just under two minutes to go. However, Highlands’ inability to hit foul shots down the end and a turnover with 16 seconds gave SK a chance to tie or take the lead. SK called a TO with six seconds to go; only they didn’t have any. Highlands would make the first of the T-shots but missed the second. Highlands got the ball inbounds and was instantly fouled. Once again, the foul shots wouldn’t fall. The Pioneers went the length of the court and got off an Alli Ponzer three that fell inches short. A very gutsy effort by the Lady Pioneers as they go into tournament play against Williamstown at Walton on Monday at 6:00. SK goes into the districts as the number one seed. Best of Luck!!!!
