The New Cath defense stymied the SK offense as the Pioneers struggled to get off quality shots. The Breds point guard did a good job of breaking down the SK defense and made the right decisions to get her teammates easy buckets. When the help came to stop her from penetrating the lane, she usually found the right teammate.
SK trailed at half by a score of 31-20. It appeared to me that New Cath had done a decent job of scouting SK as New Cath seemed to know most offensive sets called for the Pioneers.
The girls spent the second half digging out of the hole created in the beginning of the game. They got within 4 with under two to go in the 4th quarter but couldn’t capitalize on some key possessions as New Cath stretched the lead out 8 and won by a final of 52-44.
Hopefully things can get better on Friday night as both the boys and girls teams take to the floor at the Joe on Friday night in varsity only match-up featuring district games. The boys play Walton in the early game at 6:00 with the girls taking to the floor at around 7:30 against Grant County.
Please remember to include Kayla Blevins in your prayers as she is scheduled for knee surgery later this month. Get back soon Kayla!
Maybe the problem is they forgot to put air in the ball?
Maybe the problem is the black pom-poms? What happened to the blue and white?
Aly with a block to break up the lay-up.
