The Freshman team played in their first game of the season. The Lady Pioneers Frosh were inovolved in a back and forth battle but fell a little short as the Stangs scored on a direct free kick for the 1-0 win.
In JV action, the team fell down by a half-time score of 2-0. During the first half of play, lightning suspended play for about 30 minutes. The JV team holds Brossart scoreless in the second half and gets a goal from Chelsea Landrum and Mallory Steele for a final score of 2-2. When it looked like the JV squad might have been in for a long night, they turned things around and played very well in the second half.
In Varsity action, the Pioneers got on the board first when Senior Stephanie Cagle put a long sweeping shot from about 25 yards out for the early lead. Brossart got two goals before half-time for the 2-1 lead. Brossart added one second half goal fro a 3-1 final. Two of the Brossart goals actually came off corner kicks. SK had tons of shots but just could not get enough scoring presence to come out on top. All in all, it was a fairly even contest.
