SK came out of half-time and stretched the lead to 15 points in the 4th quarter. However, the Toppers turned up the defensive pressure and made some nearly impossible shots to close to within 5 with just a little over two minutes to go. SK was finally able to start beating the press and converted lay-ups to stretch the lead back to double digits and a final score of 60-50.
The Pioneers once again won the rebounding battle against an opponent by a 37-23 margin. SK improved its shooting percentage over last night by connecting on 20 of 47 shots for 42.6%. The Lady Pioneers were led in scoring by Lyndsay Figgins with 18 which included 4 treys. Chelsea Tolliver and Lauren Conley also posted double figures with 15 and 12 respectively.
SK will take on defending 8th Region Champion Shelby County in the third place game of the tournament at 6:00 at Boone County High School.
