The Lady Pioneers finished the Northern Exposure tournament with a loss in the 3rd Place Game on Saturday night at Boone County. SK loses to the Shelby County Rockets by a final of 52-32. The Pioneers nemesis tonight once again was shooting and turnovers. SK shot only 25% (12/48) for the game on its field goal attempts. SK took 26 three point shots and connected on only 15% of these shots. Pioneer turnovers totalled 19 on the night. SK struggled on the inside as they were without Kayla Smith and Caitlyn Figgins was strapped with foul trouble before injuring her elbow after fallinginto the SK bench in the third quarter.
Lauren Conley was the leading Pioneer scorer at 11 followed by Lyndsay Figgins with 10.
The Lady Pioneers will take a break from action next week and won't see action again until after the first of the year.
