The Pioneers finished out the pre-Christmas season undefeated after whipping the Walton Bearcats at the "Joe". The thrashing was evident in the 1st quarter as the Pioneers went on a 20-9 run and never looked back. SK lost only the 4th quarter (19-21) as Coach Steiner played his bench the entire last quarter.
Josh Elbert ended up with a season high 21 points plus 7 rebounds. Josh Hurd matched that total plus 9 rebounds and 7 blocked shots. Mike Hester led the assist onslaught with 7.
SK hit 30/54 including 6/20 from long range. SK went 11/13 for the best game this year at the charity stripe. SK is now 8-0 on the season.
SK will play ranked Henry Clay in 1st round action at the Lexington Catholic 5/3 Invitational on Tuesday, December 26 at 7:30 pm. Depending on the outcome, SK may play ranked Louisville Trinity on Wednesday, time to be determined.
