SK Boys Suffer First Loss of the Season

The Simon Kenton Pioneers boys team suffered their first loss of the season tonight at the hands of Henry Clay tonight in the first round of the 5/3 Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic. The final score tonight was Henry Clay 60 and SK 53. SK led for most of the first 3 quarters and led by one at half by a score of 28-27. SK led by as many as 8 in the third quarter.

Senior Center Josh Hurd was only in the game for minute and a half of the first quarter before he picked up two fouls and was forced to set out the rest of the half. Mike Hester was under the weather and played sparingly during the game. Hester also possibly suffered some type of foot injury and his status was unknown this evening.

Zach Layne was high point man for SK with 14 while Hester finished with 10. Josh Hurd, who has been a consistent scorer lately, finished with only 4 points.

SK will play tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. versus Louisville Central.
