Volley for a Cure

The v-ball team returned to the Joe tonight after a tough week of road games last week.  The team has secured the number one seed in the 32nd District but has been struggling as of late.

The freshman got things started off right with a 2-1 match win.  The JV team got out of the gate slow but put a couple of nice games together and beat NCC in convincing fashion.

As the varsity girls took to the floor, it was apparent that it was a great night regardless of what happened in the game.  As a result of several folk’s outstanding efforts, a successful Breast Cancer fundraiser was put together by the v-ball family.  A great crowd, some nice student body support and most importantly, $700 was raised through the bake sale and basket raffle.  Great job everyone!

Oh yeah, the volleyball game, the varsity looked much better than they have in recent games as they swept NCC.  The Neers come out on top 25-14, 25-21 and 25-20.  They let a huge lead slip away in the last game but still held on for the sweep.

The last regular season game will be senior night on Thursday at home versus Williamstown.  The JV team starts at 6:30; no frosh game.
The girls will participate in the 32nd District tourney next week at Grant County.  They play Grant Count at 6:00 on Tuesday.  If SK comes out on top, they would play in the finals of the District on Thursday at 7:00.
