V-ball Senior Night

DSC_0735
The Neer Volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with Senior Night this evening at the Joe.  This was the first group of SK girls that spent all 4 years of their high school careers with Coach Atwood as the SK Head Coach.  The emotions of all the players, both seniors and underclassmen, was as strong as any other senior night I’ve been to in any sport.  Really good stuff and a sign of how close the team is.  I’m sure the girls came away with some memories they’ll remember for quite a while.

I’ve only watched this group of seniors for two years but they are great SK students that made a nice impression on me.  Chloe Turner rallies the team and keeps them pumped with her excitement.  Kelsey Henderson can make things fun, even if it is just switching sides of the net between sets.  Sam Eudy shows great leadership skills even though she is a high school student.  Saralyn Callahan shows a tremendous passion for the game.  Taylor Barhorst always seems to have an attitude that is always positive and always has a smile that is contagious.  A list of attributes that collectively makes these SK students special.

The girls beat Williamstown to go undefeated in District Play.  They finish the season ranked as the 21st best team in the state and will be favorites to win the District Tournament.  I look for them to make the Regional tourney and recapture some of the magic of the season and make a nice run in the regional tourney.  They definitely have the talent to make a state run this year and put a nice cap on the careers of this great group of senior.

Best of Luck Girls!
