The Lady Pioneer Volleyball team played their third match in as many days taking on the Lloyd Juggernauts. There was no Freshman game as Lloyd only fielded JV and Varsity teams.
The JV team looked strong out of the gate. SK jumped out to a 12-2 lead but for some
reason seemed to tighten up and get nervous as they let the Juggernauts back
into the set at 14-11. The girls would
get on another nice run to finish the game and win 21-16. The tightness in the girls’ play continued
into the second set. SK would maintain
a lead throughout the set, but not by anything that allowed Coach Hacker to feel
comfortable. The second set final score
would match that of the first. As they say in the wide world of sports, a win is a win.
The varsity team took to the floor and brought some nice
swag amongst them. SK would jump
out to an 11-2 lead as the Neers would score in a variety of ways. Final score of the first set was 25-10. The big mo would continue into the second set
as SK jumped out to a 13-5 lead and cruise to a 25-11 win. Lloyd seemed to pack it in during the third
set as SK won by a lopsided score of 25-7. The
varsity team has now won 5 matches in a row and stand with a season record of
13-2.
Some stats of interest; Kaitlin Murray tallied 10 kills, Haley
Robinson with 7 kills and 4 aces, Sophie
Dunn notched 25 assists, 2 kills and 2 aces and Kelsey Henderson had 16 digs.
