A busy day for the SK sports teams; several choices but I
made the trip track down to Lexington for a Freshman/JV Volleyball
tourney.
The freshman girls made a nice run this morning in pool play
winning their pool and qualifying for the gold bracket. They would lose in their first match but had
an overall good tournament.
In pool play, the JV girls looked about as good
as Mr. Reinhart last night after eating 12 slices of Beast Pizza in 10 minutes;
not good at all. Unforced error after
unforced error were part of their first two matches. They would finish pool play at the bottom and
make the silver division. Not where they
wanted to be but they did a good job of digging out of the hole they put
themselves in to knock off Lexington Lafayette and West Jessamine to make the
finals against Tates Creek in a match-up against a team they lost to earlier in the
day. SK would dominate the first set for
the win. The girls let their guard down
a little bit in the second set to force the third game. The girls came out in the third set with a
visible determination and took the win to claim the silver division
championship. A long day but one that
ended in a great way.
