Neer Teams with W's on the Night

The girls finished their district play tonight and finished 4-2 by blasting the Demons from Williamstown at home tonight in front of a crowd consisting of about 75 fans; smallest crowd I've seen at a high school game in a long time.  Final score was 67-30 as SK led by 40 plus for much of the second half. Every player got significant minutes tonight and everyone scored.  No rest for the weary as the girls host Cooper on Thursday.

Williamstown is a great school, their kids always play hard and coaches do an awesome job but I really think playing one game for district seeding would be sufficient.  SK came out of the 33rd District where there was and still is only one regular season game used for seeding. The SK boys beat Williamstown 84-44 and 90-44 this year while the girls come out in scores of 69-28 and 67-30. Having a single district match-up not only limits the number of times unbalanced teams need to play each other but it makes the one game district game that much more important.  Just my 2 cents but I really don’t know what either team gains from scores like these.

From Neerfan, SK Boys took their turn taking on the Camels tonight. The boys end their five game losing streak versus Campbell County. Andrew Sampson with a career high 32 points for the Neers. SK played without the services of starting guard, Riley Barnes who's out with an ankle injury. SK on a three game winning streak, winning six out of seven.

SK plays host to state ranked George Rogers Clark on Friday night.
