The Pioneer boy’s team traveled to Shelby County to take on the Rockets tonight in 8th Region play. This match-up has produced some good games between the two teams since SK joined the 8th although both teams are struggling somewhat this season. The teams entered the game tonight with similar records as Shelby County was 8-13 and SK was 6-12. Unfortunately, SK comes out with another loss as the Rockets take SK by a final score of 75-69. The difference in the game came from the charity stripe as the Rockets shot 16 out of 17 while the Pioneers managed just 12 throws on 21 attempts. For the most part of the game, neither team was able to manage much of a lead. Shelby did go on a 11-0 run at the end of the first half. SK came back in the second half and went ahead but couldn’t maintain the lead. Once the Pioneers fell behind, they could get no closer than 3. SK was led in scoring by Langdon Barnes with 22.
The JV team suffered their first loss of the season by two.
