Lady Pioneers Back in Action

The Lady Pioneers got back to action tonight as they traveled to Covington Holmes for NKAC action. A nice crowd turned out for the primetime contest tonight.

Holmes always plays SK tough and the opening minutes were no different tonight. SK struggled to get on track offensively but was playing good defense to start the game. The Pioneer finally broke the ice as they jumped out to a 12-2 lead. Holmes would scrap back somewhat to cut the gap before half-time at a score of 29-14.

SK came out blazing to start the third quarter as they jumped out to a 43-18 lead forcing the Holmes timeout. The Pioneers lead was insurmountable at that point as Coach Stowers was able to get everyone involved in the action tonight. The final was 72-31.

Points weren’t announced but SK had several girls contributing in the scoring column tonight. SK returns to the Joe on Tuesday against New Cath.

Kayla Blevins injured her knee in practice a couple of days ago and will be evaluated early next week. Get back soon Kayla!
