The game was one that was full of swings as SK and Anderson took turns gaining momentum. SK looked like they were going to bury the Bearcats in the beginning of the game. SK led after the first afer Lauren Conley took 3 charges in the quarter. Anderson won the second quarter despite a couple of long range shots from Conley. These were threes that were bombs- like from 25 feet. The Pioneers trailed by three at half-time 24-21 as SK struggled at times on the offensive end.
The Pioneers rallied in the third to take the lead 35-32 and things were looking promising for SK. Anderson took the next swing mid-way through the 4th quarter and looked like they were going to start pulling away from SK. Anderson called a time-out and it looked like they were going to possibly start working the clock. SK whittled the lead back down to one when perhaps the biggest play of the game happened. Jessica Farris made a steal and raced for the lay-up. She converted the bucket and was fouled and converted the and-one. SK went down and got a stop, came back and converted to go up 4. SK made the foul shots they had to and sealed the victory.
The Pioneers on the all tournament team included MVP Conley, Farris, Wormald and Chelsea Tolliver.
