The Lady Pioneers got back on the winning track tonight as they beat visiting Walton Verona by a final of 69-39. The game didn't exactly start off on a blistering pace as both teams struggled to get out of the gate. SK led 9-7 at the end of the first. The Lady Pioneers outscored WV 25-13 in the second and extended the lead to 34-20 at the half. SK came out in the third and put the game away as they led by a 55-37 score after the third period. SK was led in scoring tonight by Kayla Smith with 14 and Sam Wormald and Jessica Farris with 11 as the Lady Pioneers were able to grab several offensive rebounds for put-backs. WV 's lack of rebounding really seemed like a difference in the game tonight.
The Freshman team lost tonight but the JV team won a tight game by a final of 43-40.
The Lady Pioneers will play Ryle on Thursday at the Joe for Senior Night. They travel to regional defending champion Shelby County on Saturday.
