The Simon Kenton fastpitch team finished a 4-4 week by shuting out Walton 6-0. The Pioneers began the week in the North Laurel Prep Showcase Tournament going 1-3. The tournament began with a 5-1 win over Southwestern followed by close losses to Danville 5-3 and Rockcastle County 3-2 and an 11-1 defeat to state power Scott County. 4 district games were to decide seeding for the upcoming district tournament, 2 wins over Walton a win over Grant County and a loss to Williamstown left the Pioneers in a first place tie with Williamstown and a coin flip will decide the first seed. Jessica Farris improved her team leading batting avg. to .500 with 14 doubles and 2 triples.
The Pioneers will try to impove on their 11-10 record when they face Holmes and pitcher Amanda Jump who has over 200 strikeouts this year on Wednesday and defending state champion and number 1 ranked Ryle on Thursday.
