Lightning Halts Tied Game

The Pioneers were locked in a 1-1 tie in the 7th inning with Bishop Brossart when lightning suspended play. Simon Kenton got on the board first in the 4th inning when Nicole Rickson singled to start the inning and moved to second on a throwing error, Jessica Wolsing pinch running for her, then moved to third on a sacrifice off the bat of Kayla Morgan and then scored on a sacrifice bunt by 7th grader Courtney Morgan in her first career start. Pitcher Kayla Morgan scattered 4 singles and allowed 1 unearned run while striking out 6 over 6 innings. The Pioneers are back in action Wednesday at 4:30 against Dixie at home.
