Campbell County came out playing tough and led SK midway through the first quarter. The Pioneers turned it up a notch and went on a run to lead by the end of the frist 20-14. SK got things turned up offensively and got several fast break baskets to spurt out to a 44-22 half-time lead. The third quarter has seemed to be a strong quarter for the Lady Pioneers recently. SK picked it up once again to put the game out of reach and led at the end of the third by a score of 65-33. Coach Stowers was able to get all 14 players in the game and see 11 of them score.
The Blue Swarm forced 24 CC turnovers on the stength of 15 steals. This is the second night SK has had 15 steals and 20 plus turnovers. SK out rebounded the Camels by double digits as Senior Kayla Stephens and Junior Sam Wormald both led SK with 6 boards a piece.
Lauren Conley did a great job leading the offense tonight as the junior point guard dished out 8 assists for the game. Conley clearly looked to get her teammates involved in play and only took 3 shots, all three pointers, and connected on two of them. The Lady Pioneers were led by Chelsea Tolliver with 19 points. Caitlyn Figgins was the Pioneers other double figure scorer with 11. For the game, SK hit 50% of their shots.
The JV team won once again as they held off a late comeback effort from the Camels.
