The Lady Pioneers traveled to Latonia to take on the Indians from Holy Cross. SK posts the win tonight by a final score of 59-41. SK came away with the win largely on the strength of rebounding as the sophomore duo of Kayla Smith and Caitlyn Figgins had 16 and 12 rebounds respectively against the much smaller Indians. For the game, SK posted 50 total rebounds compared to Holy Cross’ 23. Simon was led in scoring by Lyndsay Figgins who posted 16 for the game with the help of two treys and 4 for 4 free throw shooting. Caitlyn Figgins was the only other Pioneer scorer in double figures as the sophomore forward posted her first double double by scoring 10. Junior Captain Lauren Conley continues to lead the young Pioneers and posted another steady game with 8 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. Conley nailed two treys in just four attempts. Jessica Farris came in and also posted 8 for the Pioneers.

Holy Cross sophomore Stephanie Howard was shaken up on a play trying to block a Jessica Farris lay-up and was experiencing back pain after an awkward fall into the wall. Our thoughts are certainly with Howie tonight and we pray that everything is fine with her.

In JV action, the Lady Pioneers also bested the Indians by 18 on a final score of 45-27.
