Friday Night Hoops

The Neer basketball teams hit the courts tonight for primetime match-ups as the boys team headed to Walton while the girls hosted Louisville Seneca. I took in the home team's game.  The Lady Neers weren’t very generous hosts as they greeted their visitors with a 23-6 first quarter lead. The lead was short-lived as the SK defense fell asleep on the perimeter allowing three straight treys from Seneca as the Lady Redhawks closed to within 6 at 27-21.  Coach Stowers would call a TO to get his offense back on track as SK would finish the half on a 19-2 run to lead 46-23 at the intermission.

The SK mo would continue in the third quarter as the Neers would open up a 30 point lead.  The huge lead allowed Coach Stowers to go deep into the bench for the second night in a row. Score after the third was 62-35. Game would get a little out of control as SK would roll to a 78-45 finish. 

The girls will play their third game in as many days as they hit the road tomorrow for a matinee at Grant County with a triple header; varsity game targeted for 4:30.

The boys team bested rival Walton by a similar score, trouncing the Bearcats by a 73-40 score with Andrew Sampson pumping in 29 points. 

Make sure to come out and support the wrestling Pioneers tomorrow at SK as they host a massive 16 team dual meet beginning at 9:30.
