A nice crowd turned out to the SK campus at midnight on Sunday morning to watch the Pioneer football team in their first “hitting with pad practice”. The evening was kind of cool and really had a feel to fall in the air. The boys were fired up to get to finally start some real hitting. The offense moved the ball down the field fairly easily on the first possession. Chad Lawrence ran the ball on several keepers and used a variety of backs and short passes. It looks like there will be quite a competition for the running back and receiver positions. The team definitely had its share of miscues but it was still a good night/morning to take in a little football watching.
