Girls Soccer Senior Night

There is a scene in the movie Christmas Vacation where Clark Griswold accidentally gets locked in his attic. He ends up passing the time by watching old home movies and reminiscing about the old times with emotion pasted on his face. I am going to be honest, I felt like Clark as I looked at old pictures that the girls were putting on their posters for Senior Night. I was fine tonight and the Senior Festivities were a lot of fun.

Festivities started off with a flyover performed by the Kentucky National Guard. The Blackhawk Helicopter landed on the practice field and before the game; members of the Guard presented the game ball to the 11 Simon Kenton seniors. The flyover and departure were really cool and was the best flyover that we have had at Meneffee Stadium.

SK beat Cooper by a final of 5-1 as all seniors were able to start the match. Pretty neat that there are enough seniors to field an entire team. It was a fun night that allowed friends and relatives get a last look at the girls on the soccer field.

My compliments to everyone who did a great job putting things together for the girls. A good time had by all. Good Luck to the SK Class of 2009- Stacey, Krista, Olivia, Erin, Bri, Lyndsay, Katie, Erica, Marie, Caitlyn and Elena.
The girls have jus one more last regular season game. It is against Highlands who come to SK for the first time since about 2004.
