Basketball Season?

The football, soccer, cross country and volleyball teams are hard at their summer practices. Two a days, running bleachers, baseball field laps are just part of their daily routines. The teams are starting to come into shape physically as they have been into their practices now for a couple of weeks. We will be sure to get some Blog coverage before the regular season starts. The boys and girls soccer teams will be in action this weekend at the Bluegrass Games in Lexington.

Meanwhile, the girl’s basketball team made the track up the road to play Dixie in a scrimmage game. The game marked the return of Lyndsay Figgins to competitive action. Coach Stowers took the time to explain some of the basic rules of the game to her since it has been so long that she was on the high school court. Lynds got in the game and jacked a three. It hit nothing but…air and then the floor. Next time down the floor, she jacked another three…this time, nothing but net. Coach Stowers and Dad were a nervous wreck but Lynds played to a positively surprising level. Overall, the team looked really strong, had fun and played with chemistry. Sure, it was just a scrimmage but it was a good night for the Lady "Eers". It is safe to say I think we all just hope they stay healthy so they can have another successful season!!

The girls share a light moment and remind Lyndsay which basket to shoot at.
