Lady PIoneers Outlast Camels

SK traveled to the Desert tonight for a make-up of the game that was snowed out last week. Neither team gained a lot of traction early on as SK pulled out to a 17-15 first quarter lead. SK was finally able to put a little distance from the Camels when they went up 30-23 with 3:44 left in the first half. SK closed the last part of the period with a 10-6 run that gave them a 40-29 intermission lead.

The Pioneers came out in the second half and at times looked like they were going to put the Camels away. Campbell County gave the Pioneers several second chance points as the Pioneers seemingly held a large rebounding margin to the Camels. Every time it looked like SK was going to pull away, the Camels would come roaring back, thanks in large part to 19 points scored by Katie Kitchen. The last two minutes of the game saw the Camels fouling the Pioneers. SK made just enough of their free throws to escape with a 72-70 win. The Pioneers were led in scoring with 26 points from Chelsea Tolliver.

SK travels across the Licking River once again tomorrow night for their final regular season game as they visit Brossart.
