Back to Kenton County Classic Action

The SK Boys lost a heartbreaker tonight against Dixie by a final score of 51-47 in double over-time. SK raced out to a 20 point first quarter lead as the pace of the game favored the Pioneers. Dixie was able to slow the pace of the game down and force the game into OT with the game knotted at 36. The Pioneers were forced to make the bucket to force the second extra period but the 'Eers just couldn't pull out the victory.

In girls action, the Lady Pioneers throttled the Lady Eagles of Scott by a final of 77-16. Yep, you read right, a 61 point victory. It was appropriate that on Piner night at the Joe that the Lady Pioneers would get 8 points from one of the community's favorites, Kayla Blevins.

Olivia Bach hits this 3 as the final points of the night for SK.

Hey, who is that with the warm-up shirt on? Looks like #25 working her way back. Her medical and therapy staff are targeting a possible return come tourney time.

Former Piner Panther Kayla Blevins gets 2 of her 8 points. Did you also know that Lauren Conley, Chelsea Tolliver, Caitlyn and Lynday Figgins and Lindsey Bridges are also Piner alumni?
