Lady Pioneers Season Comes to an End

The Lady Pioneers saw their season come to an end tonight in Owen County at the hands of the Shelby County Rockets by a final score of 59-38. SK wraps up the season with a final record of 26-3 which was the best in the history of the girl’s program. The 19 game win streak comes to an end. The Rockets simply outplayed the Pioneers as they raced out to an 18 point first half lead at 31-18 which was too much for SK to overcome. The Pioneers were able to cut the lead down to single digits in the second half but the determined Rockets ran the score back up to 20 on the strength of three point shooting and strong moves to the basket.

The Lady Pioneers have won an 36 out of their last 40 games dating back to last season. Unfortunately, 3 of these 4 losses have come at the hands of the Rockets. The good news is the Rockets are very senior laden.

Girls, put your heads high and congratulations on a fantastic season. Good Luck to all of the girls in your other sports in the upcoming seasons.
