Lady Pioneers Ranked in Northern KY Preaseason Polls

Junior shortstop Jessica Farris looks to help the Pioneers improve upon their 8-15 record in their second season in the 8th Region. Farris led Simon Kenton last season in batting average, runs and stolen bases while matching Kayla Stephens with a team-high seven extra-base hits.
Stephens, a senior, will be a key on defense. "Kayla is a tremendous outfielder and gets a great jump on the ball," Simon Kenton coach Jamie Baker said.

Senior Nicole Rikson will also patrol the outfield along with versatile sophomore Destiny Cosentino.

Kayla Morgan is another sophomore expected to make an impact this season, helping out on the mound and in the infield. "She brings depth to our pitching staff and is a solid fielder and hitter," Baker said.

Also, in the Enquirer, the Lady Pioneers came in ranked 4th in the preseason polls.
