SK Rolls Conner Gets Back on Winning Track

The Pioneers football team got back to winning ways tonight at Conner by besting the Cougars 43-7. SK jumped out to a 16-0 half-time lead. Conner came out in the second half and ran the kick-off for a touchdown and it appeared that the game was on. Conner took the ball on a subsequent possession deep into Pioneer territory but missed a field goal that could have cut the Pioneer lead to 6. SK went on a tear from there to put the Cougars away. Chad Kleeman made a Chad Johnson like catch by keeping both feet in bounds and keeping possession of the pass from Elbert. Nate Ponzer made his 9th touchdown catch of the year with a great catch in the back of the endzone taking the ball away from the Conner defender. SK goes one above the 500 mark with a 5-4 record. The Pioneers will take on cross-county rival Scott in the season finale next week.

Elbert connected with Kleeman on this pass for a second half TD.
