SK Loses to Dixie in 3 OT's- 37-34

The Pioneers lost to Dixie Heights on Saturday in a game that was postponed from Friday night. Heavy rains and lightning caused officials to postpone the district game until Saturday. The Pioneers drop to 0-2 in district play in a game described as a high school football classic.

SK rallied from the Friday night deficit to take the lead in the fourth quarter. However, Dixie took over on downs and scored on a pass play to force the OT.

The Pioneers had first posession in the OT and scored on a second on long play when Junior Nathan Ponzer made a one handed grab in the endzone. Dixie countered with a TD on a pass play to knot the score again. The Pioneers held Dixie to a field goal on the next possession but couldn't put the ball in the endzone and also had to take the field goal. SK had to settle for another field goal on their third possession. However, Dixie ended the two day game on a pass play for the TD and the victory in the cross-county rivalry.

Nathan Ponzer skies off of Dixie's new turf but the defender was able to come down with this one and intercept the ball on Dixie's 1 yard line...on Friday night.
