Boys Secure Regional Berth and Spot in 32nd District Final

The Pioneers punched their ticket to the 8th Region Tourney with a convincing 89-63 win over the Williamstown Demons in the opening round of the 32nd District Tourney at Grant County tonight. SK was leading 16-10 when they went on a 6-0 spurt in the last 30 seconds of the first quarter to take control of the game. The Neers 32 point scoring barrage in the second quarter was largely a result of a Cody Chambers and Andrew Sampson 3 point onslaught. The hot shooting guards seemed to like the confines and improved lighting at Grant County High School. 13 Pioneers would score as the many of the team members saw significant playing time although Sampson was still sidelined by an ankle injury.  

SK will play on Friday night versus the Wednesday night winner of the Grant and Walton Verona game. The girls will take their turn tomorrow in District play in the 8:00 night-cap versus the home standing Braves.
