SK once again got off to a slow start as the Camels raced out to a 7-2 lead. SK scored its first basket on a 2 point shot by Seniorr Langdon Barnes to get on the scoreboard with 3:57 left in the 1st quarter. SK fell behind 9-15 in the 2nd quarter only to take their only lead at 20-19 with 1:50 to go in the half. Half time recorded the same score.
SK was tied at 25 but went down by 4 late in the 3rd quarter. The quarter ended up with the Pioneers 4 down at 30-34.
The 4th quarter had a resemblance to the game versus Fairview last night as the Pioneers overcame a height disadvantage to keep the pressure on the Camels. Campbell Cty could not hold on to a 6 point lead late as the Pioneers cut the deficit to 3. However the Camels were able to match SK late from the free throw line to retain their 3 point lead. SK had 3 shots from 3 point land to try and tie the game with 6 seconds remaining but all fell short of the basket. Camels win 50-47.
Jr Casey Sorrell led the pioneers with 17 points and Sr Langdon Barnes knocked in 11.
The final game in the AIT for the Pioneers will be Monday night 7:00 pm as they try to knock off North Laurel in the consolation game for 3rd place in this year's AIT.
