Busy Night on Campus

It was a hot and busy night on the SK campus for Lady Pioneer sports. In the practice gym, the basketball team was going through open gym, the volleyball team was hosting Highlands in a match in Big Joe Arena and the soccer team was hosting Notre Dame down at Community Field. Finding a parking spot was about as tough as it usually is for a Friday night football game.

In volleyball action, the JV team came out on top in three games. Unfortunately for the varsity, the Bluebirds take the Eers in two.

The new turf was simply burning hot. At 3:00, the temperature on the turf was about 117 degrees. Too hot for the Freshman game that was cancelled. The temp cooled down enough to allow the JV and Varsity teams to play. The JV team went down to defeat. The varsity team lost by a final of 4-0. They played hard but didn’t have enough for the Pandas on such a warm evening. SK never quit and made some scoring runs down the stretch. Tonight marked the debut for the girls’ new uniforms.
