SK Girls Win District Semifinal

The girls soccer team won the 18th District semifinal game tonight against Dixie by a score of 2-0. Winter-like temps made the game challenging to watch for the 'eer fans as blankets and jackets were the order for the night. SK possessed the ball for most of the game and was able to sneak a goal in the net in each half. Sophomore Krista Russell scored off an assist by Junior Liz Reilly in the first half and Stephanie Cagle scored off of an assist from Shannon Nienaber in the second half. Senior goalkeeper Sara Kelly recorded the shutout with 7 saves. The win qualifies the Pioneers for the regional tournament. District Finals will be played this Saturday at 1:00 at Dixie. The Lady Pioneers have won or tied 9 out of their last 10 games.
